DRESS CODE REQUIREMENTS



Dress Code for Girls:  All grades


A.  Solid skirts, skorts, jumpers, culottes, and full-length pants may be worn.  No Jean Styles.  The Chino-Style pant is preferred.  Skirt styles may be chosen from full cut or A-line, cotton blend, wool or wool blend, or corduroy. Dresses with standard length sleeves may be worn.  No stretchy or clingy material.  All clothing must be modest.  Students must be able to pinch an inch on each side in skirts, dresses, pants and shirts without stretching the material.  Skirts, skorts, dresses,  jumpers and slits must be at least mid-knee length.  Skirts and dresses should come to the top of the knees when sitting.  This will be strictly enforced.   Proper undergarments must be worn and not seen.  Be sure underwear lines are not visible.  No side pockets (Cargo style, etc.) or contrasting trims.  No flaps on back pockets in 5th-12th grades.  Baggy styles and overly long pant legs are not permitted.  If pants, skirts, or skorts have belt loops, belts must be worn.  (No hanging belts or chains)

                                                                                                           

B.  Tops with collars and standard length sleeves of any solid color will be worn.    No cleavage should be visible.  Pathway T-shirts may be worn by the Learning to Read and Elementary Centers.  Pullover and zip-up sweatshirts and sweaters may be worn.  No writing on the sweatshirts or sweaters.  No turtle neck shirts for grades 5th-12th unless they are worn under a collar shirt.  Shirts must meet the pants or skirts when arms are raised.

   

C.  Dress shoes and Tennis shoes in good repair may be worn.  No sandals.


Dress Code for Boys:  All grades


A.  Solid pants will be worn.  Cotton blend, wool or wool blend, or corduroy styles may be worn.  Docker-like slacks are preferred.  If pants have belt loops, belts must be worn.  (No hanging belts or chains.)  No side pockets (Cargo style, etc.) or contrasting trims.  No jean styles.  No flaps on back pockets for 5th-12th grades.  Pants are to fit correctly.  Baggy styles, or overly long pant legs are not permitted.   


B.  Tops with collars and standard length sleeves will be worn.  Pathway T-shirts may be worn by the Learning to Read and Elementary Centers.  Pullover and zip-up sweatshirts and sweaters may be worn.  No writing on the sweatshirts or sweaters.  No turtle neck shirts for grades 5th-12th unless they are worn under a collar shirt. 

 

C.  Dress shoes and Tennis shoes in good repair may be worn.  No sandals.


General Guidelines:


1.  All clothing is to be neat, clean, and in good repair.

2.  Appropriate designer or name brand labels no larger than one square inch, or PCA wear are the only acceptable writing and printing on clothing.  Winter coats may have acceptable logos.  (example: ball teams) 

3.  Shirt tails are to remain tucked in, shoelaces are to be tied, and appropriate buttons are be buttoned at all times.

4.  Hair is to be clean, well groomed and out of the eyes.  No abnormal colors or styles will be accepted.  No designs in hair.  Boys hair must be off the ears and collar.  Sideburns may not be below the bottom of the ear opening.  Boys must be clean shaven.  Girl's hair must be of a feminine appearance.

5.  No facial, tongue, or body piercing is allowed on male or female                      students.  Young ladies may have no more than two holes in their ears.  Young men may not wear earrings.  No large medallions or symbols may be worn or displayed.

6.  Make up and nail polish should be natural.

7.  Tattoos are not acceptable on any part of the body, whether permanent or temporary.

8. Students must meet the appropriate dress code at all times on campus and for attendance at any school function on or off campus.  They may not change clothes at school unless they are changing into other dress code attire or have obtained permission from the administration for special circumstances.

9. The administrator will have discretion in areas not addressed by these guidelines.


ALL STUDENTS SHOULD CONFORM TO THE ACADEMY DRESS CODE ON THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL.  PARENTS MAY BE ASKED TO BRING THEIR CHILDREN A "CHANGE OF CLOTHES" IF A MAJOR AND DELIBERATE DRESS CODE VIOLATION OCCURS.
